Sound
(The good the bad and the ugly)
GOOD
SingStrong has fantastic full spectrum sound and a world class ACA-Engineer who's done sound with everyone from PTX to Take 6, Sing-Off to world tours and every style under the sun. He's a live and studio wizard. You are in the best hands possible!
We also have tremendous resources with wireless microphones, especially on the MainStage where we have yet to meet a group too big to accommodate.
With advance warning and careful planning, we can also patch in your favorite board and mics if that's absolutely essential.
But most importantly, OUR system is PRE-TUNED to make a cappella sound amazing! Drums are powerful, cueing up the big subwoofers. Voices are captured in minute detail throughout the mids and crisp highs. We get rave reviews every year from audiences AND artists!
BAD
There are a LOT of groups. Each is on stage for a brief time.
On Saturday alone over 20 groups will perform and soundcheck, nearly half being professional headliners.
Long soundchecks are NOT possible. There is no time!
As performers, doing our own full show, we too adore a 2 hour soundcheck, but it is not possible or necessary in this space and in this type of "showcase" format with so many groups sharing the stage.
We know many groups have their favorite equipment. You will sound amazing with or without it! We promise!
Rentals of special outside equipment, especially European brands, are typically prohibitively expensive and our budget and choices have to accommodate all our artists' needs. We also don't have the resources to do special pick-ups and drop-offs.
ALL soundchecks will range from
But consider that it usually isn't possible or necessary.
UGLY
We love our Artists so much and we want to be flexible for them all, but sometimes there's a "hard out" and no options.
We want every group to be thrilled with their sound, but when your soundcheck or stage time is up, it's really, really up.
When our sound engineer or producer says "Thank you! That's time!" Then we must move on!

ALL soundchecks will range from
- a few minutes for competing groups in HS or ACA-IDOL; to
- 15 minutes for very simple, unaffected sounding professional groups like doo-wop, barbershop or gospel; to
- 30 minutes for professional groups with effects/processing, large numbers or other special technical needs.
But consider that it usually isn't possible or necessary.
