INTRO TO OVERTONE SINGING WITH Harmonic Introductions
Picture
Overtone Singing is a technique that enables one vocalist to produce and, with a bit of practice, control two notes simultaneously.

Overtone singing can be used in various contexts, from emulating synthesized sounds to full self-polyphony.

When multiple voices come together to sing in this style, a relaxing, glowing atmosphere is created. Overtones are always perfectly in tune.

This workshop will explain the theory behind overtone singing and teach the basic techniques of producing them.

Harmonic Introductions is a community vocal ensemble dedicated to expanding the awareness, appreciation, and understanding of polyphonic overtone singing. Founded by Robb Saffell and Julian-Israel Canizares in Spring, 2012, Harmonic Introductions has hosted and participated in over 100 events over the past decade to teach, perform, and build a culture and community focused on the art of overtone singing.

All the games and exercises can be applied to any singing group -whether your ensemble is large or small, or even occasionally sings (gasp!) with instruments (we won’t tell anyone).
