SINGSTRONG's 20th A CAPPELLA FESTIVAL FIGHTS ALZHEIMER’S
3 Day A cappella Music Festival Raises Money For Charity for the 20th time
GARDEN CITY, NY – January 31 - February 2, 2025 –professional a cappella groups from around the world will perform with collegiate and HS groups at SingStrong International A cappella Festival at Adelphi University Performing Arts Center in Garden City, NY. SingStrong Inc. is a Public Charity and this event marks its 18th a cappella festival.

The all-vocal event consists of five concerts and two days of classes and coachings, all featuring nothing but the human voice. Event profits support charity, with a silent auction to benefit the fight against Alzheimer's with its partners Cure Alzheimer's Fund, and ticket and merchandise proceeds supporting music programs with a special focus on singing and a cappella music with SingStrong Inc., a Public Charity.
Audiences will hear pop, jazz, rock, broadway, barbershop, overtone, beatbox and more -all performed a cappella. Groups will use only their voices to perform melodies, harmonies and to vocally imitate a virtual orchestra of sounds –including vocal drums, vocal trumpet, vocal electric guitar and a vocal synthesizers –all without instruments of any kind.
Friday 7PM Concert, “ACA-IDOL”
This is an a cappella competition for professional, semi-professional and collegiate groups in the style of X-Factor, America's Got Talent and American Idol. Performers give their best 10 minutes. Celebrity judges give live feedback. First place is $1,000, and audience members get to vote using their cell phones to help determine the winner. Featuring special appearances by Broadway Records recording artist, Blue Jupiter feat. Diana Preisler from TV's "Pitch Slapped"
Saturday 7PM Concert
This features multiple professional a cappella groups including Julia Easterlin, Radius, Smoke Ring Quartet, Black to Gold and more!
Saturday 8:30PM Silent Auction
This is the 40 minutes between concerts features a silent auction to benefit the fight against Alzheimer's.
Saturday 9:30PM Concert
This features an entirely separate collection of professional a cappella groups including Six 13, Forest Fire, The Trills, Harmonic Introductions and more!
Saturday 2PM HS Competition with Special Guests The Single Singers
The SingStrong matinee concert on Saturday at 2PM features a High School Competition with awards for performance, arranging and composition, as judged by respected a cappella educators and a performance of the Single Singers, an open group that anyone can join!
Sunday 2PM Concert
This Farewell Concert features more professional a cappella groups' encore performances with Julia Easterlin, Radius, Smoke Ring Quartet, Black to Gold, Forest Fire, The Trills, Harmonic Introductions and more!
Saturday and Sunday Classes
Beginning at 9:30AM on Saturday and 10AM on Sunday, SingStrong will present two days worth of classes on such topics as stage presence, forming and directing an a cappella group, beatboxing, vocal health, and musical arranging. From beginners to pros, these classes are designed to help anyone interested in a cappella take their skills to the next level. Attending a cappella groups will also enjoy free private coachings with their weekend passes. For participating schools, BOCES Arts in Education may allow HS students to attend SingStrong at greatly reduced rates (see details).
Single Singers, Open A cappella Group that Any Attendee Can Join
For singers or even singing families, SingStrong offers The Single Singers under the co-artistic direction of Stiletta founder and award-winning arranger, Dr. Judy Minkoff, and Dr. Marc Silverberg. Attendees sign up, get their music online, practice independently, and then rehearse for just a few hours on Friday and Saturday at SingStrong before they perform on the MainStage Saturday at 2PM. Members range from tween to octogenarian. Perfect for busy families who love to sing together. And a great opportunity for alumni of a cappella groups to become rock stars again.
